A program for social skills training for children with high functioning Asperger’s Syndrome is planned for 1 October 2011. The program lasts ten weeks and is broadly based on Kim Painter’s program. The ten session are:
- Co-ordination meeting,
- Greetings and introductions,
- Identifying emotions,
- Identifying facial expressions,
- Range of emotions,
- Tone of voice,
- Starting conversations,
- Basic conversational skills
- Responding to others emotions and
- Phone skills.
The program will start October 1, 2011 and the planned group starting times are:
2:30pm-3:30pm for the 5-8 year olds.
4:00-5:00pm for the 8-12 year olds.
