Fundraising and Communications Coordinator AEIOU Foundation

Hi Parents,

I would like to introduce myself, I am the Communications and Fundraising Coordinator at the AEIOU Foundation. The AEIOU Foundation is QLD’s only charitable organisation dedicated to providing professional full time early intervention for children diagnosed with autism aged two and a half to five years. AEIOU operates nine centres throughout Queensland including a Regional program reaching Emerald. A new AEIOU Foundation early intervention program opened in Nambour recently to support families living with autism on the Sunshine Coast, before a custom-built AEIOU centre is built at Sippy Downs next year. The new centre, made possible by a partnership between AEIOU Foundation and Nambour’s Goodstart Childcare centre came after calls from local families seeking the service.

My goal is to increase autism awareness throughout the wider community, to give hope to the families living with autism and to educate those who haven't been touched by autism, stories like yours are the best way to communicate and achieve this.

Family stories have a huge impact on the community through media as well as each quarter I send an AEIOU family story to our corporate sponsors so they can hear how their money is helping amazing families - the response we receive is wonderful.

I am in contact with Journalists on the Sunshine Coast  from publications such as the Sunshine Coast Daily, Nambour Weekly up to the Noosa Journal etc who are all keen to support the cause; if you are a parent of a child with autism and would like to be an advocate for early intervention by sharing your story or would like to know more please feel free to contact me on 07 3320 7555 or email laura.daley@aeiou.org.au. Currently, the Noosa publications are looking for a local story so if you are a resident in the area it would be great to hear from you.

For the moment AEIOU’s expertise is with autism early intervention however the long term goal is to be a support and service provider through school transition to employment- a life-long professional support program.

I look forward to hearing from you soon and together we can promote autism awareness and services dedicated to help families living with autism on the Sunshine Coast.

Kind regards

Laura
