At
MindMattrz Psychology Clinic, we aim to provide the highest quality
services for children, teens, adults and families with a variety of
bahavioral and emotional issues. We also specialize in and offer
specialized services for individuals with Aspergers Syndrome, Autism
Spectrum Conditions, and related and/or co-morbid disorders (AD/HD,
semantic-pragmatic language disorder, non-verbal learning disability
(NLD), anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder (OCD), emotional management issues and anger management and
socials skills deficits).
We provide both individual and group sessions which focus on coping with anxiety, depression, and stressful situations and provide a huge range of life-enhancing services for everyone from children to adults. The Sensory Profile is a measure of children’s responses to sensory events in daily life. The assessment requires the Parent to assess the frequency of their child’s responses to certain sensory processing, modulation, and behavioral/emotional events. The Sensory Profile can help identify your child’s sensory processing patterns; then we can consider how these patterns might be contributing to or creating barriers to performance in their daily life. The Sensory Profile is particularly helpful when developing an early intervention program for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Sensory Profile is a measure of children’s responses to sensory events in daily life. It provides an overall picture of a child’s sensory processing patterns. Results of the Sensory Profile are used to consider how these patterns might be contributing to or creating barriers to a child’s performance in daily life. Eight main areas of sensory input are examined, including auditory, visual, activity level, taste/smell, body position, movement, touch and emotional/social. The Sensory Profile is suitable for children aged 3 to 10 years, and is particularly useful in examining the sensory needs of children on the Autism Spectrum. It is also useful in establishing a personalised Early Intervention plan for these children, and may be covered under FaHCSIA’s Helping Children with Autism package. Assessments include comprehensive report and face-to-face feedback for parents. We utilize scaling systems, Ipad/IpodTouch/Iphone applications, video modeling, self-talk videos, biofeedback breathing, calming music, nature sounds, breathing training programs and a pet-assisted therapy dog in our treatment planning. |
